About
Hello there!
My name is Holley Baker and this is my portfolio. I started taking photographs and recording video while assigned to the U.S. Army's only active duty Combat Camera unit. I deployed to Iraq twice as a combat photographer/videographer. While walking the streets of Baghdad, I observed the mutual costs of war. These experiences taught me an appreciation for human interest stories that are embedded in conflict.
After I got out of the army, I went to the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios, Los Angeles. Over the next year, I was immersed in all aspects of filmmaking, from storyboarding and set design to directing and producing. I was officially hooked on the process of creating visual media. For the last seven years, I have experimented with many different forms of visual media, both professionally and personally, that combine my interests in art, education, and history.
I hope that you enjoy looking at these images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
